END GAME: PROLOGUE

Before the token, the Lamborghinis. Sixty-six hyperreal drawings, minted blind until $ANGEL launches on Monday 5 October.

A prologue to END GAME, Atay Ilgun’s Liquid Edition protocol on SuperRare, part of Cohort 1: a six-month artwork made of a token, ten lenses and a decade of crypto-art residue, in which everything that happens to the token becomes part of the work.

END GAME

‘asking crypto-art to transcend the market and speculation is like asking video art to transcend the screen.’

A token. Ten lenses. Six months. Everything that happens to it becomes part of the work.

A crypto-art readymade and post-speculation work, with no concept needed beyond what it is: a token, and the angels inside its 6-month schizo-blockchain myth.

END GAME is a six-month body of work that condenses nearly a decade of Atay Ilgun’s thinking around crypto, digital art, speculation, memes, value, legitimacy, and the recurring suspicion of the ‘artist as a scammer’ into a single unfolding system.

the end game

In chess, the endgame is what remains when most of the pieces are gone and every move left is exposed. END GAME begins after crypto-art has already tried everything: decentralisation, speculation, communities, roadmaps, utility, conceptual legitimacy. There isn’t another clean ideological position left to announce, so we put the machine on the table and let it run.

the angel

Collectors enter the mythology as angels. An angel is someone who keeps caring after the reasons to care have been exhausted: anyone willing to take a position after there is nothing left to promise. Not a saviour from the market — a witness inside it.

the manifesto

the sixty-six

the prologue

END GAME begins publicly with 66 hyperreal Lambo drawings as a blind mint on SuperRare.

Each one is sealed when it is bought and opens about a minute later, decided by a block that does not exist yet when you pay. Nobody knows which one you get — the artist included.

The Lambo release is the prologue, not a utility gate or privileged route into $ANGEL. The Lambos later enter END GAME as historical residue: images, mistakes, jokes, objects and traces that the six-month system can excavate, mutate or return to. Ownership of a Lambo does not grant a special $ANGEL allocation or market advantage.

The blind mint closes when $ANGEL launches. Whatever exists by then is all there will be.

The first thing END GAME produced was the oldest promise in crypto.

next week

$ANGEL and all ten lenses launch together on Monday 5 October.

The launch is not the unveiling of a finished artwork. It is the moment the artwork starts happening.

Nothing outside the work is promised. The market may rise, collapse, stall or disappear. Whatever happens becomes the record.

$ANGEL is a high-risk cryptoasset: you could lose all the money you spend on it. Nothing here is an offer or advice. Read the terms first.
